The Row
If you want it, you can have it, it’s that simple. I’ve spent the last week looking at the clothes from recent fashion weeks for inspiration, The Row is a particular favourite. Everything they make is on point, timeless, elegant and always widely copied. They create clothing that is sophisticated and thoughtfully designed, made in luxurious fabrics with price points to match. It’s a brand that only a fortunate few get to wear.
If you want it, you can have it!
If you look at this collection from the point of view of what’s on the price tag then it’s pretty unattainable. Unless you see yourself as a creator of amazing clothing then it’s no longer unattainable because you can make anything you want. It’s yours! Before you say ‘but I can’t make clothes’ just stop. Anyone can make clothing, anyone can learn how to make clothing, the important thing is to start!
Simplicity.
The beauty of The Row is in it’s simplicity, this is also an added bonus if you are making clothing that looks like any of these pieces, there aren’t too many complicated details making them much easier to put together.
Re-Create the Look.
A lot of the collection consists of oversized tailoring so can be sourced from vintage or second-hand websites quite easily. Used men’s suiting is plentiful and cheap, allowing you to create a great oversized look. Search for items that have hardly been worn that are made of quality fabrics, you’ll get a lot of wear out of them.
No money? No problem, you can use garments you already have to deconstruct or adapt to suit the style. Alterations are quite easy to do and there are a wealth of youtube videos out there to show you how.
